Acupuncture Orthopedics
Acupuncture  is an ancient healing art.  People have recognized and relied on its simplicity and effectiveness for thousands of years.  As an integral part of Oriental Medicine, acupuncture has been rediscovered in our modern age as a treasure of the healing arts that balances and harmonizes the overall health of one's body, mind and spirit.

It is widely known that acupuncture exerts a powerful analgesic effect on the body's perception of pain.  What is not so commonly known is the powerful healing effect this form of therapy has on mending bone, regenerating healthy tissue and restoring muscle tone.  By directly stimulating the bones, muscles, and nerves, and by supporting the body's innate healing capacity, acupuncture plays a vital role in the healing process.

Today
Acupuncture and Chinese herbal preparations are being successfully used to help patients manage pain and recover more quickly from neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions such as stroke, soft tissue injury, broken bone, and surgery, as well as helping to resolve long-standing pain, fatigue, anxiety and depression.  Acupuncture has a long hisoty of effectively treating neuro-musculo-skeletal problems whether they arise from traumatic injury, chronic overuse, or degenerative conditions.

Acupuncture is supportive to physical therapy, body work and exercise programs.  By incorporating an acupuncture component into one's treatment plan a safe, effective and time-tested healing system becomes available to ehance one's overall health and recovery.

Clinton J. Choate is a California Licensed Acupuncturist with a Master of Oriental Medicine degree.  He received advanced postgraduate training at Shuguan Hospital, an integrated Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) hospital in Shanghai, China.  He is a Diplomate of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics (DNBAO), a specialty dealing with musculo-skeletal disorders. Less than 1% of practicing acupuncturists have the DNBAO qualification, which combines TCM with Western orthopedic testing and reporting.   Finding the exact muscle or muscle group that is injured increases the likelihood of selecting the correct energy channel to be treated. Additionally, using Western methodology to help diagnosis a problem reduces the potential of missing a critical problem or an acute disease that is better treated by Western medicine.  By receiving this training Clinton has uniquely positioned himself at the cusp of integrative medicine to better serve the needs of western clientele.
